Hey everyone, I am trying to find a couple answers online from a Naval Hospital themselves and I am going on a wild goose chase to even find a link to just ask the question and I am way confused on the qualification they show for a civilian to be able to apply.
I come from a very strong military family, I never served myself. I am possibly looking into going back to my hometown after I finish school and maybe try to get a job at the Naval Hospital there (Bremerton Naval) I had 2 of my sons there (I was a dependent) anyway. I had heard before I left there that the hospital was going to start going to civilian heavy nurses/dr's/aides and so on.
So my questions are this if anyone knows.
Do the military hire new RN grads? If not do they hire RN's not considered new grad? If so, do they only hire specific diplomas, IE: BSN or higher.
If yes to that, do you have to already work for a federal agency or can you be fresh out of school with no prior federal work? Their website lists to be able to work for them you have to already be an existing federal employee or a student or continuing education so I am really confused.
Thank you for any clarification.

I've noticed that the nursing jobs I've seen on USAjobs.gov require one year of experience, but not necessarily a BSN. However, because I've never looked for new grad jobs with the government, I might not have noticed them! You should check USAjobs.gov and see if you find any.
I used to live near Bremerton, in Port Orchard -- my stepfather worked for the Navy at the shipyard in the early 80s. :)

I lived in Port Orchard for 8 years, it's where I lived before moving to CO a few years ago!!!!
I will try that route, thank you.
