City Tech Spring 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey all aspiring future RN's ! I'm transferring to City tech in fall 2020. Then I plan on applying to City Tech Spring 2021 RN program. I just need to take one more class MAT 1190. Does anyone else plan on applying? Current students in the RN program do you have any advice?

Did any of you guys do anything that was sent by email? Like the medcom account videos, ordering scrubs, background checks, anything, or u all waiting til after orientation?

Yeah, I ordered the scrubs, finished the Medcom vids, and physical appointment with my pcp. I have yet to do my background and drug, waiting after orientation. You?

Wow. I didn’t do a thing yet. In the email it said everything will be explained at orientation.  I thought we should wait til then    How were the medcom videos? Just basic?

Yeah, length about 15-20 mins average and 10 questions and one has 20 questions based on the videos. It will be explained in the orientation but there’s a good amount of things  to get done before the semester so it’s best to get everything done before the orientation so you can ask questions about something you couldn’t do or solve while trying to get everything done beforehand.

True. ESP if there will be assigned readings we need to do before class starts. But I’m guessing they will def give us a longer timeframe to complete everything w COVID.  Like drs appts r so hard to get early.

I did half the videos, ordered my scrubs, did my drug test, and got my paper work filled out from my pcp as well as took my flu shot. I am waiting to do the background and CPR certification.

Where does it mention CPR certification? Did I miss that?

Is there a reason you haven't done the background check if you don't mind me asking? I haven't done it either I'm wondering if it's even necessary if we're not going to clinical this semester.

I have family members paying for everything (asked ahead of time for Christmas as presents  instead of “regular gifts” did not want to go broke LOL) so I am waiting on them basically.

Hey if you don't mind me asking. I so far have paid for the background check. Im still trying to find out how to do the drug test..is it run through my primary care physician or do I have to go to a facility to get the drug test done? Also where are you getting the CPR certification done?
