Very long story short, I attended LIU brooklyn for the past 3 years and cant make it into the program without wasting a crap load of money on class retakes only to get in "eventually" and spend a crap load more on another 2 years tuition. So im looking into starting the ADN program in City Tech for Spring 2013. I have all of the pre reqs they require except the math 1275.
Anatomy-B
Physiology-B
Psych-B
English-A
Math-will take in Fall
Im extremely concerned because I feel like this is my last shot and i hear that ppl are attaining 3.5-3.6 gpa's in these four classes and GETTING REJECTED.
Does anyone attend city tech and have some sort of advice or experience they can share? Im so desperate that I will consider retaking a class ive already spent THOUSANDS of dollars for at LIU just so i have a better chance. Im so worried

Since you're taking math, i'm guessing you have a semester left to go before you actually apply to the program itself. I would personally retake anatomy and physiology I and try to get an A. You have a semester to kill so why not go for it and make yourself more competitive in the process.
I just finished taking math 1275 but in another cuny school (lehman) and got an A. If you've ever done algebra and trigonometry in HS, then you should do well in grasping a lot of the concept.
Goodluck to you :)
I'm hoping to apply to the nursing program myself after i take the entrance exam.
My prereq stats are:
Anatomy and physiology: A
Math 1275: A
Psych: A+
English (i took this college course in HS): B

I am currently a student of City Tech, and I just got into the program for the Spring 2013 semester. I got in with a 3.8 on those 4 core classes, but during my advisement they told me that 3.7 is like the highest they will look anyways, once you're past that point they look at other factors, like the TEAS exam I think. My current cumulative GPA for classes taken at City Tech is 4.0 for getting A's in my A&P I and II and Microbiology classes.
Make sure you pass the TEAS exam and you should be fine. Also they have a policy where you are allowed to replace one grade. For instance if you got a C in English I, and an A in English II they can count the GPA for English II instead. But that works only for one of the 4 core classes, like A&P, MATH, ENG, PSYCH. So you can't replace ENG and MATH. If you took a higher level course than the one required, it works in your favor because it scales better. So you can use your Child Psych, or Literature, or Calculus Class as the substitute.
Also you aren't allowed to apply to the Nursing Program unless you're a student who has taken or is taking at least 1 semester of classes in City Tech. As a CUNY, City Tech should be a lot cheaper, but that also depends on your residency, if you aren't a resident of NYS, I don't think they allow you in the program either.
