Hi Everyone,
I'm starting this article for all of the City of Chicago nurse applicants for 2013. I'll first start with a little about why I'm choosing Truman vs Daley or Malclom x and I'll also add some pertinent information that I think would be useful for everyone.
So.....
From what' I've learned, after you complete all the pre-req's
Math
Bio
Chem
English
you can apply. In my case, I've finished all of these so I am continuing on to Bio 226 & 227 prior to applying to the program, which will help me out in the long run.
The application opens around 10/10/2012, and shortly after the TEAS exam registration will open to take on-campus at Truman.
I wonder how strict they are for those who accepted? Does anyone know if your TEAS score has a big impact on their decision?
How much is are the fees for your criminal background check, immunizations, and TEAS exam?
No, there is no essay to complete for the application and no need for any letters of recommendation. The entire process takes all of 5-6 minutes. You'll need to know what term and grade you got for each required class such as English 101, bio 121, chem 121, micro, etc. Hope this helps!!
Thanks for the confirmation Mallen1507! That's what I figured, but I'm glad that I know for sure (it would have sucked to be caught unawares!)
In my opinion, I think they are using the TEAS score to determine their decision for students who's GPA is below 3.3
I don't know this for sure, but from all the information I've been hearing the better your GPA the better your chances are of getting in, but the TEAS score does play a factor if your application grades, GPA, and TEAS score are more common to others that have applied.
Hope this makes sense and is helpful. Good Luck!!!!
Less than two weeks left!!!!! OMG, I freak'in out and I'm extremely excited : ) Good Luck to you all....
Please be sure to post your good news here to share with others. We can use this forum in the future for those who've been excepted and need to swap day or night shift for this years nursing program.

The ATi test went well. I won't include my actual score for privacy reasons, but I did pass! I used a book called "the five teas practice test" to study. The hardest section of the test was the science portions, which surprised me because, I did well in the science portion while I was practicing. Good Luck!!!!. I'm going to put my application in soon after I purchase the criminal back ground check.
