Questions:
1. If someone in Texas received just a citation 15 years ago for a class C misdemeanor assault and paid the fine, will it show up in the criminal background check?
2. Should it/does it need to be disclosed on applications to nursing school, for hospital employment, or to the Texas Board Of Nursing if it was only a citation and occurred 15 years ago?

yes you have to be honest about it to the Boards. And read the fine print on nursing applications for jobs. If it says arrest then the answer is YES. Conviction, the answer is No.
Just be honest about it and class C. Won't affect anything. I had class B (worst) and I have my licenses and passed a background check for a job. Be as honest as possible with the Boards. They see felonies, so your Class C misdemeanor is nothing. They will approve.

Was your Class B case dismissed and/or expunged prior to applying for NCLEX and your license?
And how long did it take for Texas BON to review your paperwork?
Thanks!
