I am going to turn 30 this year and I am contemplating a career change into Health Care. Right now I work as a systems analyst for a great company. I have a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems and I have worked in the IT field for about ten years. I have never been totally happy in my present line of work and I find it very unfulfilling. However I have stayed because I feel like I have so much invested and earn a decent paycheck.

Last year I completed an STNA class and began taking prerequisite classes for an accelerated nursing program. After doing a lot of research I think CRNA might be my ultimate goal after completing my RN program and working a few years, but I am getting cold feet. In the present economy, I am starting to feel a little nervous about making such a drastic change. I was wondering if there are any CRNAs out there in the Cincinnati or NKY area that might be willing to let me shadow them. I would really like to spend some time to find out if I can really see myself doing this, before I put aside my security blanket and leave my present position to start a new and very long journey at this stage in my life. I thought about just calling one of the hospitals, but I feel a little weird asking to shadow when I haven't even started my RN. I thought maybe someone on the board might understand my position and be of some help.
