Does anyone have good Christmas traditions, crafts, or ways that they help parents celebrate this time for year?

Where I worked we used to do a little card for the parents with the foot prints or and whatever the volunteers made for the babies...usually a special knitted hat or a cute little t-shirt. Sometimes they would give small stuffed animals. I've never worked anywhere where we didn't have volunteers give something for us to pass along.

We got blank baby t-shirts and decorated them with Christmas puffy paints and silling sayings related to Christmas and had parents decorate them with puffy paints.

One of my coworkers and I made "mistletoes" for the babies. We used green oven bake clay for the babies who were in the NICU before Christmas and we knew would still be there. For babies who came after that we just used paint or ink to do their footprints on paper. This is a link to the directions we followed. We did all the footprints over a few nights at work, and labeled them and took them home to bake them. Then we brought them back and finished putting them together at work. We attached a poem, too, called Everlasting Mistletoe.
