Congrats! There's a fair amount of colleges nearby where students want to sublet their apartments for the summer. You can get to CHOP pretty easily by public transport (SEPTA). Some options are UPenn, Drexel, Temple, UofA, UofS, etc. A Google search of college sublets Philadelphia will get you on the right foot.

If you have any questions, let me know! I go to school in Philly and am also an extern for the summer.

Hey, congrats! I was a CHOP Extern last summer and was also coming from outside Philly. I ended up finding a summer sublet on Facebook from the page "Philadelphia - Housing, Apartments, Rooms, Sublets, Roommates." It worked out really well! I recommend trying to get something walking distance to the hospital, I was living near 40th and Chestnut and it was totally walkable. You can also let the Extern Coordinator know that you need housing and she can help you out with living in the UPenn dorms if that is what you prefer.

I just got an interview for this summer too! I was wondering what it is like? I will be flying in that morning and leaving that evening so just wanting to know what to expect!

Also, being from out of town, was it affordable on extern pay? Thank you!
