Based on this sentence you wrote "but don't want to spend forever in school" I'm compelled to reply with it's just one more year. That's not a long time! And since you want a more balanced life and want to make sure you earn competitive grades just one more year might be better for you. I chose a 3 year nursing program! (well technically because it begins in sophomore year). To me it seemed forever but it's really not. I'm going to have the chance to work in a hospital as a student nurse which will help me get a job faster after graduation/passing the nclex.

Hello,
I have been accepted into both programs I applied to. One is TWU in Houston, a two-year traditional program. The other is Texas Tech's 2nd degree accelerated program in Austin, Texas. At this point, I am leaning towards TWU. My concerns:
1. I am not from Houston and am nervous to move on my own.
2. I want to finish asap (Tech, 12 months only), but I am thinking I might want to have a more balanced life in school and have more time to learn everything/work/nursing internship/etc. Im 23 and feeling to old to waste a second year in nursing school when I have the opportunity to complete my BSN-RN in 1 year instead of 2.
3. I am wanting to specialize or continue to earn my masters, so my grades are important (2 years might be better?), but dont want to spend forever in school (maybe the 1 year is better?)
Could someone please tell me what is most important when picking a school? If you have been through school, what are some things you wish you had considered that you didnt think of? Honestly I would appreciate any advice anyone can give!!
Thanks in advance!
