Hi everyone,
I'm a pre-nursing student who lives in the Pacific Northwest. I'm about to be done with my prerequisites (I'm almost done with microbiology this quarter) and have had the chance to apply to the fall ADN program at Lake Washington Technical (LWTech) before finishing microbiology (they treat it as a corequisite). Though, this program is not my first choice, as it doesn't have the best reputation online or by word of mouth. I applied in the anticipation that it's really competitive to get into any programs here, and knowing that I should take every opportunity I get.
This means that I have to wait to apply to my program of choice at Bellevue College for the quarter in the winter.
I may end up getting accepted into the LWTech program before hearing from Bellevue College, and half of me wants to take a risk and possibly decline my acceptance into LWTech in exchange for potentially getting into Bellevue College instead. There is a chance I wouldn't get accepted though because of sheer competition.
I realize that ultimately it's my choice whether to gamble with getting into the program of choice while turning down acceptance into the other.
Background:
I have a 4.0 gpa and a 87.3% TEAS score.
Simplified question: Should I just take any chance I get (since it's competitive up here) and just go with whatever program accepts me first, or should it be ok to be choosy and wait to see if I get into the nursing program I want?
My intuition says take the first program that accepts me.
I'm looking forward to what you think.
Thanks

Hello,
Just ensure it is accredited by Search ACEN Accredited Nursing Programs and that you can afford it. The rest is up-to-you to put in the work and have a support system while in nursing school.
Thank you for your reply! Do you feel that ACEN is the only accreditation that really matters? Does having additional accreditation matter necessarily?
