In New Zealand you may have to do a competency based assessment. This means 3 weeks at a Polytechnic and 6 weeks clinical (no wages). This is the nursing council address. [email protected] Maybe you can write to them and then decide. Their are heaps of jobs in New Zealand. I am not practising at the moment due to the fact I do not have an annual Practicing Certificate. Quite expensive to obtain.Good Luck.

Hello to my fellow nurses on Ireland and New Zealand. I already received the decision letter from An BORD ALTRANAIS last April 10, informing me that I need to undergoes a period of of 6 weeks of adaptation before I can fully gain my full registration. The problem is that until now I'm struggling to find an employer that will sponsor me.
I'm already to the point of giving up until I received a job offer from New Zealand. Please share some of your experiences on this. I would like to know the Pros and Cons of both countries in terms of career opportunity for nurses. The agency that arranging my papers promised me that I can leave as early as January this coming year. I also have a scheduled interview from my employer in Ireland this coming November.
Maybe I need to make the final decision this week on where I'm heading Ireland or New Zealand. Please help me to shed the light on what decision to make.
Thanks A Lot
