As long as I have thought about being a nurse, i thought about being in LTC. Now that I have had my first job in it, and from my previous post you will know it isn't a good job, I am doubting that's where I should be.
I have started looking at other jobs and wondered if maybe I should try another area of nursing. Mainly because I am a little worried that all LTC jobs in my area will be the same.
How did everyone pick which area they went into and is there a good way of helping someone pick?

How long have you been in LTC? I haven't read your other posts and don't know your background, but I will say that the first job is the most difficult. It takes about a year to start feeling comfortable in your role as a nurse and about two years to become competent. Consider giving it some more time -- you may be pleasantly surprised.
