Hello!
I have recently moved to AZ and am currently working as a staff nurse on a behavioral health unit. I am looking to get out of bedside and am very interested in Case Management but I have no experience. I have heard that Magellan is one of the biggest providers for Behavioral Health patients and a good place to work for. I was also told that Choices Network of Arizona is also good place to look into. Has anyone heard or worked for any of these places? What sort of nursing are they looking for and what types of jobs do they offer? Any input/suggestions would really be helpful. Thanks!!!

I seem to remember AZ mental health case managers weren't RNs, rather they're bachelor, associate or even high school educated with varying levels of experience.
The psych nurses tend to work at clinics where they assess pts and administer meds.
Thanks for the reply! Two of my coworkers have worked in Choices and left because of long hours and pressure. However, another coworker has worked there and loved it! She loved having her own office, speaking with the pts and having staff meetings in regards to the pts progress. I believe you're right about nurses giving the medications. I'm just worried that I will regret leaving my current position if end up hating the clinic setting. I'm looking to get into case management or utilization nurse but I only have psych experience.. No med surg. Everything I've read needs experience...frustrating.
