CHOC Children's RN Residency February 2015

Hello New Grads! :D

Just wanted to start a tread for CHOC's RN Residency for Feb 2015! I'm was so excited to hear that they are holding a Winter Residency. I applied to the Medical Unit and am anxiously waiting to hear any news! The application is still open for those of you who have not yet applied. I have heard there are only 12 openings. Is this orange county? I applied for the Feb Residency. Do you know if they will consider that for the winter one too?!

Oops, sorry to confuse you! Yup, its for Children's Hospital of Orange County. They are the same thing (Winter/Feb residency). So yes you'll be considered!

I applied to the Hem/Onc and received a call for interviewing. Its on the 9th of December. Been waiting a year for a permanent acute care job and this is my dream job! I'm hoping it all goes well and I finally get to start in a career I have been patiently waiting for! Best of luck to all who applied!

katomps, did your status change before receiving a call? or has anyone received a status other than "completed"? thanks.

My status didnt change at all. It has been a very long process. I graduated Dec 2013 and got my RN license in March 2014. I am BSN and have my BLS, ACLS, PALS certs as well. It was not an easy process and there have been many rejections along the way. Persistence and Faith have gotten me to this point. Its my dream and I'm hoping that is why i have had to wait so long. Don't give up on your dreams!

I applied to the PICU & have been anxiously checking my email daily. Has anyone heard of people getting PICU interviews yet?

I have not heard of any calls from PICU yet! JCAHO just finished up at CHOC, so everyone has been extremely busy. Hopefully now that things are starting to calm down, calls will start coming out soon! Please let us know if you hear anything.
