CHLA Versant RN New Grad March 2014 Cohort Application

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello,

Did anyone hear back for the March 2014 application?

I also applied to NICU and got a call for a "prescreening" on November 11!! Sounds like it's just the beginning of a very long interview process based on the last cohort's thread.

Nicu seemed to get started earlier in the past too. Sigh... Now that people are already getting calls, it makes me more anxious.

I know how you feel, but try to relax and turn that anxiety into hope!! Hopefully lots of people will respond to the thread once they hear back.

good luck to you I received a call as well! This will be my second time around applying

Congrats to those who got calls for interviews! Now I'm anxious too! Crossing my fingers for heme/onc!!!

Anyone out of state planning on doing their first interview via phone, or are you going all the way to LA for the 10 min interview?

yeah I would take anything really... but onc is my passion. BMT would be awesome too. I had a BMT peds patient at hopkins and it was an awesome experience!

Do you go to school in the east coast BlueJays?

I am in Los Angeles but open to applying to the east coast if I don't get a CHLA interview!

I'm an LA resident, but I'm in Colorado with my husband's job for a few months. When the nurse recruiter heard that, she offered me a Skype interview for this screening round, so I'll be interviewing that way. I will be interviewing with Hem/Onc/BMT on Nov 11.

I know some others who have received calls- NICCU and PICU, but not sure about other units...

Does anyone have any info about what we might expect from screening round interview questions?

I just wanted to add that I heard that someone from a previous cohort did not get called for a screening interview, but later got called for the main interview round. She had precepted at CHLA and her nurse had vouched for her or she had made a good impression with the manager or something. Anyways, she was crushed but then ultimately was hired. So if this is your situation, I just wanted to pass along the good vibes.

Yeah, I'm out in Baltimore, but ultimately want to end up in California. I am virtually applying to every top Children's Hospital and crossing my fingers.

I hope they haven't finished calling all the heme/onc people!
