Children's Medical Center of Dallas RN internship GN residency July 2015

Published

Hey y'all.

I figured I would create this thread so that the current applicants for the RN residency at Children's Dallas for July 2015 could converse, share any updates, and we could all wait together. Feel free to comment. Good luck everyone.

I received a email to schedule a phone interview. What type of questions did they ask?

TSU_FutureRN, BSN,

I don't know about how each specific unit does it, but according to HR they are behavioral based

I received a call earlier today and scheduled a Skype interview for tomorrow. Did anyone else have to use taketheinterview.com ? From what I was told on the phone, I was under the impression that this was just a tool for me to practice interview questions and prepare for the real interview tomorrow. But when I log in it says I will submit my answers at the end for Children's to review. I'm confused!

I used it, you get a practice round and the final one submits to them. I think they look at that before you go to your interview.

Ok thank you! I must have misunderstood her

Hey @YolandaHernandez the same thing happened for me! So hey... :) we will be future co-workers. And ps, did they mention when we could expect to get the original offer letter?

Does anyone know the starting salary for Children's? Just curious how it compares to other hospitals.

It's about the same as other places. Once the year residency is complete you get a sizable hourly increase. The first two years have a set pay progression, and then every year after that it is a merit based salary increase

I was told $24.75/hr for new grads. Does anybody know details on the 2 year work agreement?

caitlin4 do they have a contract? I've heard different things

That amount is correct! And yes the residency is 1 year, and then you are required to work 1 year after the completion of the residency. So yes it is essentially 2 years. If u leave before the contract is up, U are required to pay the hospital a prorated amount based on how much of the contract U have completed

PS, does anyone have word of when to expect an official offer letter?
