I work at Children's and I love it! I've been there 5 years and 10 months and see myself there for quite some time to come. Any questions I would be happy to answer.

Murph01 - I'm moving to Boston after I graduate from my accelerated BSN program in December. I was just looking at Children's web site. Is it true that they have a gynecology unit? I'm interested in working in women's health and really enjoy working with adolescents. I'm thinking that that type of unit would be a good combination...any thoughts? Does Children's hire new grads into certain areas only?
Leo_bsn - Yes, Children's does have a gynecology area. They have a gynecology outpatient clinic. There is not a specific gynecolgy inpatient unit if that is what you are looking for. I don't know much about gynecology, I work in the cardiology.
Thanks for the information. I am having a hard time finding what inpatient units Children's has. Can you point me in the right direction? Do you know if they ever hire new grads into the outpatient clinics?
Thanks!
If you go to http://www.childrenshospital.org and browse the site you should get some info on what we offer. Children's does hire new grads. I don't know what it is like in other programs but in the CICU we orient our new grads with a 6 month orientation consisting of classroom and clinical precepting. Let me know if I can help you with anything else. - Karen
