Childrens Hospital-New Orleans Cards 4 Cancer

Hey guys!

I am currently a pre-nursing student at Delgado Community College and will hopefully be applying to Charity's LPN program this May (yeah! pray for me)

I am also volunteering at Childrens Hospital in the Oncology/Hemotology dept on Saturday's. I ran into this wonderful program called Cards 4 Cancer by a worldwide organization called Spirit jump. Check out their website, spiritjump.org and cards4cancer.org

April 10th will be cards 4 cancer day. It is a special day because on this day, all of the teams around the world that have recieved donated greeting cards will go to their cancer center or hospital of choice and deliver the cards to those battling cancer. Its purpose is to uplift the spirit of someone battling cancer and to remind them that someone is cheering for them.

I have started a team called NOLA's Kids (check it out at cards4cancer.org). I am limited to what I can do for the wonderful and brave kids I work with at Childrens Hospital, so I decided to do this for them.

If any of you are interested in donating a greeting card or cards to lift the spirit of a child and/or teen battling cancer please send me a private message and I will make arrangments on picking them up.

The cards should be an uplifting card, "Just to say Hi", "You're in my thought", or a plain card with a nice greeting. Nothing religious or get well since unfortunatley not all will get well.

I look forward to hearing from you guys and helping me bring as many cards as possible to the beautiful kids at Childrens Hospital!

Hey Sandy! I looked at the website, what a great idea :yeah:. I'll try and spread the word and get some cards for you! How many do you have so far?

Hi!

Thank you for your interest in this great program. In hand, I have 40 cards already donated from school, and I have a bunch of people collecting cards from their friends, family and co-workers. I don't have the complete tally yet but I hope I deliver lots of cards on April 10th.

Please spread the word for this great cause. If you do collect cards, just send me a PM and we can set up a time and place to meet so that I may get cards from you.
