I did my leadership preceptorship at CHLA a month ago. I think it is the best hospital in southern cal. They have an excellent new grad program. They were the one that created the Versant new grad program and sold it to the current owners. They are building a new hospital which will be completed in few years. The only negative is the pay which is on the lower end of the scale. Also, in most unit, you will have to start at nights. Anyway, I think they have an open house sometimes soon. I suggest you attend. You will be impressed. Good luck!

I was impressed during my clinical rotation there some years back. I've heard the same as flyingfish, that the pay tends to be lower than surrounding facilities and that they have a strong new grad program.

Pay is lower than others. But it's a good place to work. I was a travel nurse there and worked in the CTICU. You will gain a lot of great experience. It's a good place for nursing autonomy.

I don't know too much technical info about working there -- but my aunt has worked there for 30+ years now and absolutely loves it!
