Hello everyone,
I wanted to start this thread for anyone who is applying for the Dallas/Plano Children's Health residency that begins in February 2025. I applied for the residency Monday and I am very excited and anxious.

Has anyone heard from hem/oncology? I had an interview but haven't received a phone call or email.

There's a possibility they could be done. The recruiter sent a mass email on Tue around 11:40 congratulating on accepting an offer and that official offer letters would be sent in the next few wks since she has "over 60 to process" manually by herself. Interviews ended on Monday. BUT she could have more calls to make, don't lose hope. I just wanted to give an update. I'm sorry for the agonizing wait some of y'all have had.

Did anyone in their interview get/ask details about the residency program outside of it being a year long?

Just the basics was told to me that you do the classes for a certain amount of time, you work with a preceptor for 12-16 weeks depending on your unit and how you're learning, and then after that you work on your own and get monthly check ups with the educator until the one year mark, we also have to do an EBP over something related to your unit but not sure when that will be.

Did they go over day/night shift with you too for your unit?

They didn't but I've heard it's previously been you do half your precepting shifts days half nights not sure if that's true or not
My friend was offered a position today so looks like offers could still be coming. Keep the faith!

hey guys! not sure if this thread is still active but thought I'd try anyways - I applied to this cycle of dallas childrens RN residency on 8/30 and got an email saying all spots were filled on 09/02 (50 positions for 600 applicants!)
I am an out of state candidate but I believe I have a great CV + resume + great pediatric experience at renown hospitals. was an objective required for the CV? not sure where I went wrong
to those who got in -- any advice for me to at least receive a phone screen LOL

First, I'm sorry that the outcome wasn't favorable for you this cycle. I'll be real with you and say that I didn't submit a CV at all. I only submitted their resume template along with my actual resume, which doesn't have an objective. I wish you all of the luck if you plan to try again.
