Chicago LPN looking to transfer to FL???

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Hello,

I work as an ER- LPN in Chicago, IL, I graduated LPN school in 8/06, Passed the nclex-pn 10/06, (started working then), and finally received my license by mail 1/07. I'm looking to move to the Fort Lauderdale area and am trying to find info on transfering my nursing license and looking for job. I have 5-6 years experience between ER and Cardiac Cath lab, on top of several more as an EMT. Any info would be greatly appeciated.

I read that FAQ link before posting here. It states endorsing an active license that never took the nclex take 2 years. What about an active license that did sit for the nclex and passed.

I just moved to FL from NJ and I transferred my license by endorsement. I would start the process quite early though. FL's board of nsg. is super slow. It took me over 3 months to get my license. If you go to their website you can fill out part of the application online and pay for it and then they will send you send the fingerprint card and social security # verification form. It is a very easy (yet expensive) process.

I called the Florida state directly and asked about endorsement... They stated that If you have an active nursing license and took the Nclex then there is no time frame you could have graduated 2 months ago and endorse to Florida as long as your active. Good news for me!!
