Has anyone attended Chester Career College in Chester, VA ? I'm in the first mod which is strategies for success and basic math. The next mod is anatomy and physiology. Just wondering how your experience was for the entire program so I'll know what to look forward to in the upcoming mods.

Chester Career College used to be RSHT. I went to this school and it was awful!!! If you learn on your own then you will be fine but be prepared to be screwed over. When I went to RSHT, I had to retake my entrance test because they "lost" it. i also had to pay a monthly fee, SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS, they tried to say I didn't pay several months and I had to show them the receipts to prove to them that I did. They were also on the news several times because they did not prepare any nurse well for their job fields. We went through several personnel throughout my course of study there. They actually just settled a law suit with the school last december because they did not receive adequate training and they told all of us that our classes would transfer when we went to RN school BUT THEIR CLASSES DO NOT TRANSFER!!! Overall, I graduated in 2007 so it could have changed by now but I graduated with 19 people and to this day half of them have not passed their NCLEX. Sorry to be so negative. I just had a horrible experience and if it is under new management it may be completely different now and i hope it is. I don't want to steer your thoughts because of the past management they had. I have had a few friends who went through the program and actually liked it. You must start doing NCLEX style questions now because our exit class was the only class that taught us how to take nclex style questions. get the PN Exam cram book. It will teach you way way more than school will. This will help you a lot. Please continue your education as a RN! If you can self discipline yourself and do many NCLEX questions on your own then you should do just fine with Chester Career College and you will be successful. Good luck :)

oh and I forgot one thing. Our mods were 5 weeks long and the teacher did not know which mod they were teaching until the day before. This should tell you how well prepared the teacher was for our class. We also were not allowed at MCV after a clinical instructor yelled at our group of students in front of nursing staff. We also had another staff clinical instructor who actually had to show her nursing license when we went to clinical because they did not believe she was a nurse even though she had all of us students with her.....I hope they are more structured now than they were back in 2007.
