I'm currently taking chemistry right now && for all of those who passed chem, what helped you study the most and come out the class with better knowledge of the science? Cause right now it's absolutely kicking my butt! Any tips/study habits or helpful websites would be greatly appreciated!

I'm graduating with a chemistry degree this semester and I currently tutor general chem and organic at my university. All I can say is practice problems! It's gunna take a whole lot of time and effort but I used to do all the problems in the book at the end of each chapter. Then when the test came, often times the same problem would show up and I'd already know how to do it! Also just talking to your profesor shows him you're trying and he'll be more likely to bump up your grade at the end of the semester. And check out your school's chem department and see if there are any tutoring services or grad students that can help you out. Good luck!

I'm an RN with the equivalent of a Master's Degree in Chemistry, so if you have any questions, please feel free to email me: [email protected] . One tip I would give is to try to understand broad concepts, and not try to memorize too many formulas or tedious little facts.
Thank you very much ddunnrn... I'm slowly remembering different things but do you know anything that would help me memorize the polyatomic ions? Everything else like conversions and reactions I'm slowly getting better at, just need to learn how to get better at balancing equations more cause those can be complicated...
