chemistry requirement

What chem course did you have to take for your prereqs? I took chem 101 but I got a C and I'm going to retake it to get an A. Although I did mess up and register for chem 102 and 103 and withdrew that's when my major was pre med. I changed it back to nursing and I'm currently taking the courses again because it seemed like at the time almost every nursing school in md required eight credits of chem. I really want to get into UMB but I just found out they only require four credits of chem. I'm thinking about withdrawing from my two chem classes but that means I'll have 4 withdraws from the same classes twice. Any adivce? Do you think even if I did that, that umb or other colleges that only require four credits of chem will care since it's not a required course for admission?

Hi!

If you think you will do better in the higher chem, I don't see any reason why you should withdraw. I also took eight credits of chemistry. I think that getting an "A" in a my higher chem improved my chances of getting admitted. Just make sure that you will do everything you can to improve your grade in chemistry. UMB Admission emphasizes that one of the first things they look at is the science GPA. Also, they will probably consider the chemistry with the higher grade.

Good luck!

I have to take General Chemistry for admission to UMB School of Nursing
