Hi, guys...
A while back, someone posted a link or a checklist of questions to ask a company while you're interviewing them on the phone- I've tried searching but I'm coming up with 1000 posts that DON'T have it! It was a pretty thorough list, if I remember. Any ideas? I don't remember if it was posted on here, or just a link to it, but if anyone knows what I'm talking about, please let me know!
Also, since we're talking about it, are there any questions that you should have asked when you first started traveling that you didn't know to ask? Any "tricks" played on you by the company that left you fuming? I'm getting close to traveling (a few mere months! Yay!) and am trying to prepare.
Thanks!

1. Housing, the most important..........are they providing private hoursing or expect you to share, and some companies do this. Are they providing dishes, tv, linens, etc., as they call fully-furnished, or is it just the basic furniture and nothing more. Is basic cable included? Land-line telelphone?
Do you pay the utilities, or do they?
2. Transportation to the assignment. Are they flying you, or are you driving your own car? Reimbursment for the driving? When will you get paid for it?
3..Medical insurance. What do you have choice of? When will it start? When will it stop? Dental? Eye?
4. End of contract bonuses. If they offer one, and if they will not average it in to your salary during the contract, do not sign. Means that they expect a larger number of nurses not to finish the contract. You pay a much higher tax rate, because it is considered unearned income by the IRS.
5. Guaranteed hours? Shift? Float to other units?
And the most important, if it is not written into your contract, it does not exist. Your recruiter does not have the authority to make changes to your contract, it must be signed off by administration.
Thank you!

Thanks for the tips. I have been reading about travel assignments and how some nurses didn't get the whole truth, so this helps me know what to look for. I have not did much traveling out of my area, but I have done agency nursing and know how the benfits and salary can change once you accept the assignment.
Thanks again.
I am thinking about traveling next month. ? Quik Travel Staffing, do you know anything about this Co.?
