I was just wondering if there is anyone else hoping to get in to Chattanooga State's RN Program for 2016? Looking for a group of members willing to share our experiences, concerns and progress while hopefully becoming the Nursing Cohort for fall 2016!
Yay! Congrats to your friend!
With this long delay, I'm now really glad I only applied to the RN program at Chatt State. I'm sure there are others that applied to multiple schools and/or multiple programs and need to make decisions soon about which program to accept without knowing whether they got in at Chatt State.
My mom knows my advisor and saw her this past weekend. My advisor said they are trying to aim for the 18th and the delay has been because of what's going on with the application director position. This is just by word of mouth, so I didn't hear from her directly. I'm not getting my hopes up for Monday, but what she said is somewhat encouraging.
Just wanted to let you guys know. I attended an info session last night and Shirley Kilgore said they have no date set to review applications for 2016. Right now the new employee is overwhelmed and is very behind. The lady that retired is even coming back in for a few weeks to help them get caught up. Right now the pool of applicants is so small due to such a small number that has been entered into the system. She said they are doing the best they can but at this time there is no projected committee meeting date.
Well, try to look on the bright side. Some people apply for multiple programs and will need to decide soon or risk losing a spot. So the longer they take before deciding, some people will have accepted elsewhere. Not everyone applies for multiple schools, but some do. At least this is what I'm telling myself to stay positive. Lol
I might call after the 4th if we still haven't heard anything. I'm going to Cancun on the 22nd & I'm worried about the timing if they don't send emails until the 19th.
Haijun, have you thought about letting somebody in the department know about your timing worries? If you're accepted I wouldn't want you to lose your spot because of anything related to that!
I asked about both the timeline of when they would make selections (she stated 18-24 April at the time) and the timeline to accept a slot if offered. I was told to check my email and that you can send the acceptance form by mail, fax, or in person and that we'd probably have at least a week to respond.
My cell plan doesn't cover Mexico but I'm sure I can figure out a way to check my email daily and to respond by the deadline, if necessary. Of course, hopefully we won't still be awaiting notification by the 22nd.
I'm guessing quite a few of the 10 stand-bys will get in this year, because of the delay. And the reality is that some programs routinely announce admissions this late or later & students in those programs somehow manage to get all the physicals, immunizations, cpr, etc done.

Seriously. The wait is slowing driving me insane.
