So, anyone here from that area?
As far as what color nurse techs and CNAs wear it would depend on where they work. At Erlanger they just wear the scrubs of their choice on most floors. There may be some departments which require them to wear hospital scrubs but I don't know the specifics. I think some of the north Ga hospitals require specific colors and styles. You should find out from your supervisor what the expectations are. Good luck to you!

I was meaning for Memorial hospital on 500 and 200 floor
When I last worked 2Central in the summer of '08 the entire hospital had certain colors set aside for RNs, certain colors for techs, yada yada. I don't remember offhand what the tech colors were, and that info is almost two years old now. I imagine they still have the color policies in place, though.
Hi ! I'm also from Chattanooga area. Worked at Parkridge Medical Center (Great place!). Now do travel nursing.
I am curious if you would be willing to share info about Parkridge Hosp. I work for HCA in Colorado, but was looking to relocate to Chattanooga, TN. Parkridge had hired me as a New Grad, but I finally got an offer in Colorado where I lived. Now that I have 1+ yr experience my husband and I have done research regarding TN and are considering a move.
Can you give info about a typical RN hours, pt ratios, poss pay range and whether there are options for bonus/ overtime?
I greatly appreciate your input.
I am graduating from Kennesaw State University (in Ga) with my BSN at the end of July. I live right smack between Chattanooga and Atlanta, so I am looking at hospitals in both cities. I recently received a request for an interview from Erlanger for an RN position. I know the nurse recruiter told me that the new nurse starting pay was approx. $18; are there any other significant benefits for Chattanooga hospitals or anything I should be aware of? I don't want to base where I choose to work my first job solely on pay, but in Marietta the starting new nurse pay is over $22... And I do have student loans to pay...
Also, any advice on interviewing at Erlanger would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

take the one in marietta. with the pay decrease and the gas expense it isn't worth the difference
So, you live within walking distance huh? Great! If I get the job on NNICU or MSICU as PCT, maybe we can do lunch your shift differencial pending of mine if I geththe position. It will be a 8p-6a shift. Dawn interviewed me and says I seem very promissing. I hope she didn't say that to get my hopes up then to kill them just so I would feel I was off the hook of waiting. I have been waiting just to get an interview for the past 6 months between Memeorial & Erlanger combined with different department floors as CNA/PCT! email me personally and give me info for poss. future lady PCT.
I am originally from around Knoxville area but I lived in Chattanooga from 1991-1996 when I was married to my first husband and we lived in E. Brainerd and off HWY 153 in a duplex. I am so homesick that I can't stand it. I need to get back because of my ailing parents and my son lives in Ringgold. I would be better at getting my hands on him if something were to happend to him instead of making a 3 hour trip from Macon, Georgia. Maybe I might get to know my future co-workers that even belong to allnurses and work @ Erlanger!
