Thought it would be a good time to start a new thread for all of us that are applying to Chattahoochee Tech for fall 2013! I would love to see what you received on the TEAS and your GPA. I plan on taking the TEAS V in August and currently have a 4.0 in my sciences and a 3.8 overall (I think). Does anyone know how many people usually apply and how many get accepted?
I tried to apply at Highlands in February but I didnt have enough time to take the Sats and get scores back before the app deadline. I still lack a few classes for their program also. Highlands is way closer for me and they offer financial aid which is a drawback of Ctc's program. I will make it work though!! I want this too bad to let distance deter me and I will just have to get my own loan.Lauren
When you say financial aid, do you mean student loans? I have Pell and Hope at CTC, and haven't had any issues.
Are you currently in the nursing program? I was told those, atleast Hope will not cover the nursing once in the program! Help! thanks
I am not in yet - I have my interview next week. But I've never heard that about either. Doesn't make sense to me that it wouldn't be covered. Can I ask where you heard this?
when you look at the original email from CTC Nsg dept. on 5/24, it says that students for interviews will be notified the week of the 12th, then in the info. for the program, the points (50) will be added, (if selected for interview), so, that date of the final selection seems right. Oh I can't wait to wait :)
I read the email again from the 24th, and it said "Qualified students" will be notified this week, but then in the info for the program it says if selected for interview. Ugh, I am confused...and yes those 50pts would be nice, but who knows what the reason is that some may have an interview, some may not. I am in the same nervous boat with you allysamyles. I am just going to sit tight...tightly wound!
I think you guys might be reading into the specific wording just a bit too much. In the program info, it says "if selected" simply because not everyone will be picked for an interview, even if they have the other pre-reqs listed right above it. "Qualified students" probably just refers to those students who meet whatever baseline standards the school committee determines. If the CTC program admission process is anything similar to KSU, then all potential program candidates will be interviewed. Further down on the program info, it states that interviewees are selected based on their total points in the pre-req categories. THEN, it goes on to say that final class selection is based on total number of admission points, which INCLUDES the interview.
Definitely not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but we don't want to start spreading misinformation either!

Thanks ladies!! I'm pretty sure interviews are conducted by a panel. In fact, it seems like I found who was on the panel on the website a long time ago, I can't remember now though. It was mostly teachers from the Marietta campus.
