U.S.A. Georgia

Has anyone received an acceptance letter for the new RN program? I received an acceptance letter and I wanted to find out if anyone on this site received a letter.

Sorry for the late response. I had a 3.7 for my science gpa, my overall gpa was 3.77 and I had a 90 on my TEAS test.

Hey there Juliern81!

Congrats on your acceptance!

I wanted to know what the TEAS test was like? Is the Kaplan book a good tool. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Is Chatt Tech's nursing program accredited?

Chatt Tech must graduate it's first ADN program with an 80% or better pass rate on the NLN exam. The first class is scheduled to complete around May of '11. At that time, they will receive full accreditation. I have been accepted into the 2nd class that begins in January. I am not worried that they will not receive accreditation. Are you planning to apply?

Yes, I am going to apply there. I am just very nervous about the accreditation. I really would like to further my education down the line, and I don't want to run into any trouble with the accreditation.

What is the lowest TEAS score/GPA they accepted?

Thanks for all of your help :)

Not trying to get in the middle of the conversation...but what is the version of the TEAS test? I was on the ATI website trying to get a study guide the only ones I saw were 40-85 dollars is that what yall paid or am I missing something. If those are the only ones I might go ahead and invest in one....but I would like to make sure I got the right version.

The version of the TEAS exam that Chatt uses is 4.0 I used the 5.0 ATI study guide and got it on Amazon.com for about $22 with free shipping using Amazon Prime (free for students).

The lowest TEAS score was an 84.something and the GPA cutoff was 3.0. Basically, you had to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on the 6 required pre-reqs. The students were then decided by taking the top 50 TEAS scores from the pool of applicants that met the minimum GPA requirement.

I got accepted too!!! Im really excited and nervous at the same time! Listening to the current students talk at orientation just made it even worse! I have 2 children at home. Guess they better get used to not seeing their mommy! :(

I understand completely. I'm trying to prepare my 3 and 5 year olds for less mommy time. It will be tough, but at the end of the day it is ONLY 14-18 months and in the grand scheme of things, that's not so long. It will be quite challenging, but worth it in the end! See you in January! I hope the 1st class didn't scare too many people into not returning!! Have you registered for the class yet?

You can find teas test info on the atitesting website. Try searching teas test on this site as well. The test has math, science and english. There is a lot of reading and work to do in the nursing program. You would have to commit a lot of time to studying, etc. Make sure that you have a support system when you get into the program. A lot of people have gone through nursing school while raising their kids. You can do it. Best of Luck.

I know many do go through nursing school with children but from what I am reading the hours are variable and earlier than the dropoff time before school (for example, clinicals can start 6:30am in which case i might have to head out 6am, and no elementary school takes kids that early)...all the people I have seen on this site talking about going through nursing school seem to have husbands, family, in-laws...I have no family in the state of Georgia whatsoever...I am seriously wondering how the parents get through the constantly variable schedule of nursing school, especially clinicals? Even the commute seems unpredictable as the school could be in A and the clinicals in Y.

I am doing a lot of research and realizing I would have to figure out if I can actually get through the variable schedule of nursing school with none of that support system people usually have. It also seems that many people are commuting 45 minutes to 1 hour away to a nursing school, and to fit commute time within school and afterschool hours with no one to run and pick the child up for me if something happens...is a scary prospect.
