Hi Beth, I recently received a trespassing from (an American Indian) casino. Will the effect my RN License?

What's essential is that you check your state's BON/BRN guidelines regarding reporting legal infractions.

As an example, California BRN states:

Registered nurses (RNs) in California must report any misdemeanors, infractions, and felonies when renewing their license. This includes any conviction in any state, U.S. territory, military court, or other country since the last license renewal, as well as no contest pleas and traffic tickets with fines over $1,000. RNs must report these convictions to the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) within 30 days.

The trespassing charge itself may (or may not) affect your license, depending on the circumstances and your history, but failure to follow reporting mandates will not help matters.

You may want to consider contacting the American Association of Nurse Attorneys to find an attorney in your area.

Best wishes,

Nurse Beth
