Changing Jobs... I think??

Hello everyone. I need some advice.. again... Well to start things off, I have been a Nursing assistant for two months now in a hospital that is 68miles (one way) from where I live. I am really looking at a job much closer.. like 16 miles from my house closer. Anyways, I put in an application at an Assisted Living/Nursing home. I didn't hear from them in over a week so I called back. Several times at that. Well I finally got an interview set up last Wednesday the 21st. It went really well.. its for third shift and FULL TIME which I can handle because I am doing 12hr shifts and its PART TIME a few days a week and along with the drive is wearing me out. The person that interviewed me got copies of my diplomas and my certificate from my EKG course. She told me that I would be hearing back from her.. well it will be a week tomorrow and I am wondering if I should call her OR write her a thank you letter. And I have NO IDEA what to say if I call her or write her a letter. I am really wanting to work closer to home.. they actually will do classwork/training and take the state test within a month or two to be certified.. and at the hospital I can't become certified for a year. Plus my patient load will be like 10 or less instead of 20 like at the hospital! If ya'll can give me advice on how to nab this job please let me know. I need all the advice I can get right now! Just want close to home!

Well, my grandmother would say that it's just polite to write a nice thank-you note within a couple of days of seeing you for an interview. That way, you can also touch base with her and reiterate about how well suited and still interested you are in the position, and how much you appreciate being considered. It doesn't have to be a letter-letter, it can be on a thank-you card and not so formal.
