Changes to tcc 2010 spring application period????

:DI have been told by several people that those applying for the Spring 2010 will be required to take a Speech class that requires speaking. Has anyone else heard this? I had to give several speeches in both of my speech classes----I am not sure what other Speech class would suffice. Also, I heard that all pre-reqs must be completed before applying. I think this is just to weed out alot of extra paperwork---we all know that the majority of people who apply without having everything finished aren't admitted anyway. I plan to apply for Spring 2010...this would be helpful info to know (just in case I need to get into a quick summer class to meet this possible new Speech pre-req). Anyhoo....let me know your feedback!

I'm not sure about changes for the spring 2010 application period, but I can tell you that when I looked into nursing programs in the Houston area (and there are A LOT of them, if you include a 40-mile radius around the city) at least 80% of them required that all of your pre-reqs be done before you apply, and those pre-reqs required a Public Speaking class. A few (such as UT Houston, HBU, Alvin CC, Lonestar) didn't have these requirements. Good luck!

When I went to the information session she said she could not remember which course it was but she believed that it was 1318 that was not going to be accepted anymore. Maybe someone with a later information session will be able to give a definate.

I called this afternoon - anyone that has already completed SPCH 1318 or is currently enrolled in SPCH 1318 will be able to use that credit towards their prerequisites. However, the class will not be accepted as credit torwards your prerequisites if taken in the Fall of 2009 or later.
