change of major appeal letter

Published

I receive finacial aid. i am changing my major to nursing. can someone tell me if the following appeal letter is ok to turn in to the financial aid.

Dear Financial Aid Appeal Committee,

My name is ..... I amwriting this letter as to appeal to change my major. I am currently pursuing anAssociates of Arts degree at (name of school). However, I have come tobelieve that an Associate of Arts in Nursing would be a better fit for myaptitude and interests. I am currently enrolled in math to finish up my AA anda Psychology class during the maymester to begin my prerequisites for the (school name) nursingprogram. Although I am a single full time employee I cannot afford to furthermy education unless I continue to receive financial aid. I need 4 remainingscience classes to complete before I apply for the (schoolname) nursing program. Since Iwork full time to care for myself and child, I will have to take one scienceclass each semester and will need financial aid throughout the 2015 schoolyear. I am currently working with theelderly in the health industry and have come to learn there is a high demandfor nurses. I realize that I am on a Timeframe plan and changing majors may notbe an option, but I feel that it is mine and my child best interest to at leasttry. She has epileptic seizures and looks up to my dedication to school andstudying. She is only 5 and wants to one day be a neurologist. I know that ifmy appeal for my change of major and continued financial aid is granted, I willfinally have a stable career to support my family. I am sincerely interested innursing and enrolling in the school nursing program. Although the school nursingprogram is my first choice I will also apply at other nursing programs if notqualified at school. I will take my education and knowledge acquired at school to anursing program and eventually my nursing career. I can only do this with yourcontinued financial support. Thank you for your time and consideration.
