our last newsletter spoke of "change" as a good thing but unfortunately it was vague and i wasn't sure whether it was meant to shame or inspire. is change always good? common sense says that "it depends".
where i work there are nurses who work only a certain area (by choice or by limitation-"can't handle it"). there are nurses who work everywhere. same with cnas and qmas. and there are those who work different shifts (god bless them). my question is: should those who stay put hang their head low?
as for me i have nothing against change. my last request for change was almost a year ago when i asked to go to assisted living day shift. it was temporarily denied because i have made too many changes. i have been full time, 32 hrs, 24 hrs, day shift, night shift, cna to qma, etc..., just trying to find a spot where i'd "fit in". i finally gave up on my request to go to day shift assisted living because noone ever mentioned it again.
change is good. what's not good is being thrown here and there without any training. it's not only bad, it's dangerous!
