I took my first fundamental test day and haven't received my final grade yet. The choose all questions was marked wrong when they were correct so she is going over the test before giving us our grades. After the test, we went over the test. After reviewing the questions, I got upset with them because I disagree with their answer on a question. In my fundamental book and online view test, the answer was "reported to the supervisor". Here is the question:
A nurse witnesses a coworker taking a medication ordered for a patient. The nurse's first course of action is toA) Ask the other nurses on the unit what they would do.B) Tell the coworker that the incident will be reported the next time it happens.C) Offer to care for the nurse's patients until the medication is no longer effective.D) Report the incident to the nurse supervisor.
They added the choice of "tell them to stop is the correct answer. It doesn't sound correct at all to me.
So they can change answers to the problems? If they are giving us the wrong answers on our test, we will probably get it wrong on the NCLEX. That is my dilemma. Let's not mention they have their favorites in the class. The favorite thing doesn't bother me but missing with my test makes me angry. If I think this is happening should it be reported? I want to stay with this for a year and just get away from this school. It's my only option now since I am in the nursing program. They did a horrible job demonstrating a head to toe assessment to the class. They were all over the place. Keep me in prayers. I know God is behind me which will give me strength. What is your opinion of this? Is every school the same?

I would think the sample test was designed to help as is. Modifying it may cause people to fail the NCLEX. I would think the correct answer would be D. I know that choosing the most correct answer is often the case for the test.
What is their pass rate anyway? If it's low, I would try another study guide that has a decent success rate.
I look at a sample question from one and it was as follows...
You are treating a geriatric patient with poor hearing. You should...
The "correct" answer was lower your voice since they cannot hear the high tones well.
Of course this is wrong because raise and lower your voice refers to volume not pitch! At least in English it does.
They should have put raise the pitch or lower the pitch.
NCLEX Passage Rate:2015 83.75%2016 74.36%2017 79.22%2018 75.36%
2019 97.40%
The NCLEX Pass rate went up in 2019 after giving students practice nclex questions after each test.
I am in the program so no looking back now. I'll be there for a year. I found out I made 84 on my test so I am happy. I get frustrated when I study for 12 hours on a Saturday and feel as if I may fail a test. Trying to figure everything out is frustrating. Some answers in the books are wrong too. Trying to learn nclex type questions and study for tests along with struggling with answers because they are different is a heavy load. I do feel a little better now.

When you’re preparing for NCLEX those types of questions are almost always “tell the supervisor” and don’t confront the person directly. However, you should just get used to this now because disagreeing with answers on tests is a regular occurrence lol
