Chances at UT Arlington 2015

Published

I am applying to the fall 2015 semester at uta and just wanted to get some insight on my chances. I have a 3.56 overall and 3.33 science gpas with 2 considerations. It would help if anyone else could share their experience applying and their gpa/considerations and term applied to. Thanks.

I thought about applying at UT Arlington but was unsure to complete an online program. It seems like it aggressively recruiting students because when I requested more information I was called/emailed PLENTY of times. Did you decide to enroll in their program?

Yes I'm in my second year and apply to the nursing school there end of this semester. It's the only one I'm applying to which I'm kinda worried about.

I applied to 5 different advanced nursing programs for Spring 2015. I would suggest applying to several programs to increase your chances of acceptance.

What's stopping me from doing that is the pre reqs for almost every other nursing school require and additional couple classes and most schools require a different entrance exam, and I do not have any room in my schedule to add those classes and still apply on time. Are you applying to nurse partitioning school?

Advanced 2nd degree BSN programs not NP. I can understand your frustration and did not mean any disrespect through my suggestion. I definitely know how difficult it is to complete requirement to appease each nursing program and if you need a list of BSN program with respective pre-requisites please let me know since I made a list. Hope it helps.

No there was no disrespect; I hope my tone did not come out defensive. May I ask which nursing schools you applied/were accepted to?

I'm applying for UTA fall 2015 also and it is nerve-wracking.

My Science GPA is 3.75 and my overall GPA will be 3.63 by the end of this semester if I end up getting all As.

I'm was told by the adviser my GPA is competitive but you never know since it depends on the pool of applicants. It's also harder during the fall since more people apply at that time.

I've also had my GPA looked at by current and pass nursing students and they all tell me I'll most likely get in unless it's one of those 'unlucky' semesters where there are a lot of high GPAs.

I'll also be applying for TCC ADN while I apply to UTA BSN and AP BSN. If I don't make it into either, I'll take those extra prerequisite classes you talked about earlier that other colleges require and retake chemistry (which I got a B in) to bump up my GPA.

The thing that makes it so difficult for nursing students applying is how early we are required to apply and the LOOOOOOOOONG wait until we find out whether we made it or not. uuuuuuuugh. and all we can do is worry and wait. :sorry:

To be considered what courses should be taken at UTA vs. Jr. College? I know mostly all, but I was thinking English 1 and 2, Literature, & Technical writing at Jr. I'm confused with how to be considered per the school wanting 12 of 16 science hours and 30 plus prereqs. hours. Any advice is great advice. TIA!
