chancellor's learning system

Nursing Students Excelsior

Thinking about starting Chancellors learning system. I would like to know if anyone has studied with the learning system they offer. I obviously know they do not offer a degree and I will have to go through Excelsior but I just want to know if this system has helped anyone and if they finished with them and Excelsior?

Hi Freddie! Welcome to allnurses. I moved your thread to the Excelsior forum for maximum exposure and to encourage responses.

I know people who have used Chancellors, but I think most would recommend that you avoid signing a contract with a third-party publisher and go directly through EC. You can buy used study guides on eBay or elsewhere for a fraction of the cost that you'd pay if you sign a contract with them.

An alternative to pricier guides is Studygroup101.com - very reasonable prices and a lot of excellent material.

Good luck!

Before I realized that I could get all of the materials I needed directly from Excelsior, and before I knew about Study Group 101, I signed up with Chancellors. I had no problems dealing with the company and the customer service was good.

As far as the study guides go, I didn't use them much. It's not that they were bad, I just didn't need them once I had the Excelsior Study Guides, the study group 101 materials, and the text books recommended by Excelsior. The one thing I AM glad I paid for was the Chancellor's Care Plan Lab. It's a 5 day CPNE bootcamp. I've heard good things about it, and will be scheduling with them soon.

To sum up, save the money, Use the assigned text books and exam content guides and practice tests from Excelsior, and Study Group 101 materials. Look into the Chancellor's Care Plan Lab once you are ready for the CPNE. Those may be all you need to be successful. (And you'll save a couple thousand dollars)
