Chancellor's cut score in California

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hey there,

Does anyone here know how to calculate the California state chancellor's VN cut score? My school, which I will be applying to, requires a cut score of at least 78% but I have no idea how to determine what that is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated ;-)

Thanks!

Glendale has an Excel formula on their site where you can plug in your numbers. Glendale Community College : Selection Process

Keep in mind some schools will have different criteria; e.g. including chemistry or nutrition in the science GPA. Most schools just seem to use anatomy, physio and micro though.

Thank you SO much! I tried googling to no avail so this is awesome! :)

Hmm, how would I do this without an English GPA? My school doesn't it.

My school only uses the highest score in Anatomy/Physiology and overall GPA. I can't find any formulas for that :-/

Sorry, I'm not sure! :( I thought all schools included the English GPA. You could try contacting yours and see if they could point you in the right direction. Good luck!

In California, the English 1A (or equivalent) is a necessary party I'd the cut score. It's determined by the Community College Chancellor's office. The showing is for community college ADN programs, so it is designed for community college requirements. But done universities have begun using it as well. If you're going into a 4 yr school, English 1A is required as well. If you try to use AP English from high school, they count it as a C. No way around having to take English, and that single grade carries as much weight as all 3 core biologies combined, so take that class seriously! An A in English gets tou a lot more leeway in the bios or your gpa, but not both.
