Chamberlain/out of town students.

Published

I have read a lot of post inquiring about Chamberlain and out of town students. I am currently in Chamberlain and my experience with the school has been entirely negative and on hind sight a waste of my time and money.

If you are planning on going to Chamberlain and are out of town, the chances are that you may have to do your clinicals and validation in Missouri.

If you know you can not handle that, DO NOT EVEN BOTHER AT ALL because you're gonna fall behind in the program and not get credit for work done because you didn't complete your clinical requirement.

The staff is not helpful at all and communication with them is a nightmare. You will find yourself fighting with them most of the time and some had to seek legal action just to get things done.

Chamberlain can no longer offer RN with the PN component. But they are not telling you that. They ended up asking a bunch of student to drop out and start from scratch with the new curriculum after completing the first half of the program.....crazy I thought. (what about tuition/loan spent for that year?)

So please be VERY VERY CAREFUL if you want to take the online program at Chamberlain and are out of state.

I am HIGHLY not recommending the online program to anyone. They claim there are going through changes but I am yet to see!

I have nothing against the school but I have a conscience and cannot withhold this information to innocent students/parents/husbands/wives wanting to better their lives by having a degree in nursing. I owe this to you all. I could write a book about Chamberlain and get a bestseller award.

Mom06grad!

Make certain that you do everything to insure that you complete your requirements on time and graduate, as bad as it is, it might vaporize for you too. Thank you for your first hand account and warning to others. There's nothing like hearing something from someone who is really in the know.

I will have to concur with everything. I was an in-state student and had several problems with them BEFORE I even started the nursing portion. If you want to know what I went through...send me a pm. Its too much to write out here. I am out of 7,000 dollars to top that off too. Lucky for me the classes are transferable. But I heard the same stuff, "we are making changes, we are trying to accomodate people. blah blah blah". I would STEER CLEAR....PERIOD.

P.S. I withdrew as of June 2007.

I wish I had talked to all of you BEFORE you had this experience. Read some of my old posts. THIS IS NOT A NEW PROBLEM FOR CHAMBERLAIN/DEACONESS.:angryfire

I have a lawyer, but we have to fight Tenet, which is the former owner.

For those of you with lawyers, my lawyer says I can talk to your lawyers. Bring it on.....I want to help.

Hospicetec - I'm calling your lawyer this week.

Boy can I relate! I also withdrew coz I couldn't get anyone to respond to me about all my clinical questions. It was like they were doing me a favor. Lost a bunch of money too but I am happier and less stressed now.

Evaluate carefully whether you really want to deal with all their nonsense. Oh, didn't they just increase tuition again?

Good luck to all.
