Chamberlain Nursing Questions

Published

Hi, I have a degree from Texas State but decided to do nursing so i've been taking classes that were not required for my degree at hcc in Houston. I applied to UT Houston but was denied. I think my GPA is 3.0 maybe 2.9. In all my sciences classes I have A's. I'm a little frustrated since I have a bachloers already and it seems going to back to school is pointless. I was thinking about Chamberlain the only downside is they do not do 15 month accelerated programs anymore so it would probably take 2 years which seems so long since I already did school.

What are my chances of getting into Chamberlain?

Hesi Question: Chamberlain takes an overall score of 75% or 75% on each section. I've been told it is an over all score of 75%

Honestly, your GPA is not high enough to make it to the top tier of nursing school applications - which are admitted to programs in the Houston area. If you can go all out on your remaining pre-reqs & pull up that GPA, it would greatly improve your chances. However, many schools are now giving more weight to entrance examination scores so if you ace your entrance exam, it will make a huge difference.

Best of luck to you.

why are some schools giving more weight to entrance exams? Some people are not great test takers, where are you getting that information? UT Houston you had to have a 2.75 and it was "recommended" you get a 75% on each section. I did all of that and was still denied. My friend didn't meet the requirements gap or test wise and got into UT San Antonio.
