Chamberlain College of Nursing (Jacksonville) Spring 2016

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Hello everyone,

I recently applied to Chamberlain College of Nursing in Jacksonville, Florida. I am nervous because I was told that my packet went up to the board last week and now I'm anxiously awaiting the final decision. I have completed an AA in general education and also am a practicing LPN who went to Concorde Career College for their practical nursing program back in 2007. This makes me very familiar with expensive private schools and how they work. I completed my HESI last week and scored a 92.7% first try. Because of my military background, I have been to about 7 different schools and getting all of my transcripts sent to Chamberlain was pretty expensive. I am not sure how they calculate GPA, so I have no clue what my GPA was when my packet was sent to the board. I plan to contact the school after Thanksgiving break if I do not here anything from them before then.

I'm curious to know... anyone who has been accepted to Chamberlain, how were you notified of your full acceptance?

Hi good evening, I was notified by phone. I received a phone call a little less than a month in the process. She called and told me the good news and that my acceptance letter was in the mail. I guess she just wanted to give me a heads up and congratulations.

Hi!

Can you tell me how your experience at the Jacksonville campus has been? I'm leaning pretty hards towards that campus. I have a good amount of pre-reqs to transfer over, I'm just looking for opinions and help!

Thank you!

Hey!

So I was accepted and started classes in January of this year. My experience overall has been great! My advisor already has my completed degree plan laid out until the end of the program and she makes sure that I'm registered two terms out so I have a pretty good idea what's coming up ahead. Most of my classes all have e-books which I like because I can access from anywhere that I have internet (the only classes that required physical textbooks were my A&P courses).

I can open up my class shell and books from my home computer, in the classrooms(because they have wifi access), as well as on my app on my phone. They have tons of support from online tutoring to on-campus workshops. They really promote for us to be successful. The professors I have had so far at Chamberlain have all been professional and very knowledgeable and many are working on their Doctorate's or currently have their Doctorate degrees. Side Note: There is also an option to have your e-book printed and mailed for a few dollars more.

Financial Aid is was simple for me. The courses are very quick though and if you are a procrastinator, you will learn not to be or you may not do too well. I feel like I just started last month, but it has already been 8! I am very pleased with my decision to go to Chamberlain, especially after interacting with other students from other schools at clinical sites and realizing how much more knowledgeable and comfortable I am than they seem to be.

The only down side is the $$ but I applied for a bunch of scholarships. Hope this helps.

Thank you. They notified me by phone and told me that my official acceptance letter was in the mail. Very nice welcome packet too!

Thank you for responding! I go to my orientation tomorrow. I transferred 27 credits over, received financial aid and some scholarships from work. I also have a friend and we are starting together. I'm so excited and nervous all at the same time. I hope orientation answers all my questions, because I have a ton!

Hope I get the chance to meet you on campus one day!
