Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Hi :)

I was recently accepted to this program for January 2014 session. Anybody else currently accepted or plan on applying?

Current students: How do you like Chamberlain so far?

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

In order to get accepted your application must go before the board at the school.

Oh ok. Gotcha... Man I know that's nerve recking. Are you transferring hours from another school?

Yes it is! I was expecting a call today, but nothing. Lol I am transferring in credits. I'm not sure what they will accept yet I currently have 56 credits and enrolled in 12 hours this semester.

Man well I'll def out in a prayer for ya. I did a transcript evaluation and all of my credits transferred thank God so ill only be going to school there for like a yr and some months.. What school are you transferring from if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks girly, I appreciate that! I just recently moved to Houston. I'm transferring from delgado community college in Louisiana. Did you take the HESI yet? I believe I should have only 2 years to complete.

Oh ok cool and no I haven't took it yet. I'm going to take it in December.

I got accepted!

Good luck to you all. I graduate this December :D :cat:

Thanks. Can you give us some insights on the program?

I stronglyyyy recommend taking all of your prereqs at Hcc first or another cheaper college. The only classes I know of that they did not accept was Philosophy, nutrition and statistics.

Its expensive. A lot of us are here as a last ditch or for the flexibility. There's a lot of flexibility. After fundamentals/health assessment my classes were once to twice a week. Which allowed me to work.

We we get great clinical sites. In the medical center. Try to leave an impression on the nursing manager/director on your units. Yes. Kiss ass. It might land you that job when you graduate. Give a thankyou card, etc (I wish I did that)

I think its a great program. I'm confident in my skills and some nurses have said "Chamberlain students have confidence compared to the rest)

And yes, they're fully accredited. $665/credit hour. Apply to the Good Samaritan scholarship as soon as you start. Easiest application ever, you might get lucky. Check out nurse corps as well.

Apply to chamberlains ins nightingale scholarship as soon as you start too. Can't apply after a while because "it's reserved for freshmen". Many of us weren't aware.

Let et me know if you have other questions. One of my friends has a job offer from MD Anderson and another has 2 offers from Ben Taub. And we haven't graduated yet;)

ALSO apply to any paid student internships you can land your senior year. I wish I took those seriously. Pretty much a guaranteed job apt when you graduate.

Forgive my typos. I'm mobile

I'm excited about starting and congratulations. I have applied for the nightingale scholarship already so I'm waiting to hear from them. I am transferring credits over to chamberlain, but I have a very few prerequisites that I will be taking with chamberlain. I am so happy to finally hear from someone in the program at the Houston location who is almost done. Can we buy our own books? Or do we have to use the $325 they include for books.
