Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta, GA

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Has anyone attended or is currently attending Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta? If so, how is it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am currently attending a technical college and have done all of my pre requisites except for the sciences. My gpa is 3.40. I just found out about this school and I am very interested... thanks.

So does chamberlain offer micro both online and onsite?

So i went to meet with my advisor yesterday for pre enrollment yesterday. She was able to register me for classes but I'm just confused as to why on the portal it says that Microbiology and Anatomy and Physiology for nursing will be offered online and onsite but my advisor says that it can't be taken online? can anyone clear this up for me please?

Been there done that, got the t-shirt! I considered nursing for two years and after deciding to drop that idea like a hot pan, I chose Respiratory. Couldn't be happier; yeah a few dollars less an hour, but less hassle for seeking a job after graduation with thousands of other wet-behind-the-ear nurses and most importantly, more room to flourish, as Respiratory Therapy is a very small community. I've just graduated as RRT and it feels great.

For all of those reading this, please understand that I am not a student who failed a class, so NO I am not out to get Chamberlain. I am writing this, because there are several facets of Chamberlain that were unfavorable, and would not want another individual to experience these issues. For one, I was LIED to by the Admissions office, which did not factually inform me of when I would be able to register. After taking my HESI literally, four months prior to the following time they accept students, I was ignored by the Admissions Advisor, Daloune Lamothe for SEVERAL months. Secondly, the professors (a term used loosely) in this institution will NOT and I repeat, will NOT take responsibility for any wrong-doing, most of the instructors that I have encountered were EXTREMELY unprofessional; in fact, some instructors made crass and inappropriate jokes in the presence of students, arrived late to class, or texted while instructing the course. Lastly, do NOT make any attempt at bringing any troubling issues to the attention of higher beings, such as that dreadful dean, Stephenson. She will make poor attempts at rhetoric and the rem-mentioning of policy, to maintain the CYA(cover your ass) code of conduct that Chamberlain College of Nursing Atlanta wishes to ever so greatly uphold. This is not a student writing this, that has failed a class, or is bitter, this is a student who recognizes GREAT fault and unprofessionalism. I beg of any person reading this, that is considering this institution, PLEASE try your like elsewhere... PLEASE. You're better off at a more reputable institution.

I am sorry that you feel this way, dekoocRRT. I am a recent graduate of Chamberlain - Atlanta and this was not my experience by any means. Don't get me wrong, Chamberlain has its issues, just as any college campus does. During my two years of classes at Chamberlain I never witnessed anything but professional conduct from the professors. Not only were they good teachers, they cared about me personally and because of that I have made some lifelong friendships. What I did see first hand during my time there was a number of students who bashed the program and fought the system because they were held to a higher standard than they may have experienced in the past. I saw students gang up on professors because the teaching style did not meet their preference. Unfortunately, because this is a small campus than your typical college campus everyone is in everyone's business.

To anyone considering Chamberlain - Atlanta, don't be afraid - DO IT! It was the best professional decision that I have ever made. Is it tough? Yes. Are there days when you want to give up? Yes. Is there days when things just simply don't go your way? Yes. However, as an alumni of this great campus I can say with peace of mind that I am an EXTRAORDINARY nurse because of this school and the people who contributed to my education there.

Anyone attending Chamberlain this fall 2015

Can anyone tell me if its better to take NR 222 online or on-campus???

Hey everybody! I been stalking this post for the last few days. I'm proud of everybody whose been accepted and doing well. I took LPN and failed due to some personal issues. I know nursing is what I want to do. I found this school by searching online around two years ago. I fell in love with the idea of finishing in three years but was scared by the price tag. Now after having my three month old son im ready to give us a better life. I live near Gordon state college and will be taking the rest of the pre reqs there. Does anybody have any information or tips on which classes will transfer for micro or statistics? Gordon has a microbiolgy for health sciences and intro to statistics. Thank you. Sorry for the long post

Thank you. I appreciate the response. I wanted to find out as much as I could before I created a bigger financial hole at chamberlain than necessary lol. Did you transfer a chemistry class? Gordon has Chem 1211 principles of chemistry 1.

Yes I actually did a online chemistry at clovis community college. And yes they did accept it. It was a general chemistry with the lab. The general Chem. was easier than the principles. My advisor told me they are really just looking for the basics with a lab component. I'm only on week 2 but even though it's expensive they give you so many resources to help you to be successful.

Thank you. I know Chamberlain is awesome and has many resources but Gordon college is literally down the street from where I live. I currently don't have a car so my sister (who is in Gordon now) has agreed to work it out where she will help me get to my classes. I want to squeeze in as many transfer credits while I can while my free ride and babysitter is offering :D
