Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Has anyone attended or is currently attending Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta? If so, how is it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am currently attending a technical college and have done all of my pre requisites except for the sciences. My gpa is 3.40. I just found out about this school and I am very interested... thanks.

Hasson.....good to seen another future male nursing student!! LOL. Welcome my brother!! LOL.

Appreciate the love Phrozenone.. Are you currently attending Chamberlain College of Nursing? If so, how do you like it?

Jsayers11,

If its 9 credit hours per session...i think i understand why its the max. There's 2 sessions in a semester and at "regular" schools the max is 18 credit hours per semester. So therefore its equivalent to one semester at a regular school. I'll find out for sure tomorrow.

Specializes in NONE.
Hi,

The Atlanta campus is just opening. I will be transfering there in June from the Arlington VA campus. This school is no joke. It is hard once you get into Fundamental, Health Assessment, and Patho all together. It is very fast pace. The are 8 wk sessions. It goes so fast that sometimes I wonder if I am retaining all the info. Be ready to work your butt off. Kiss your social life goodbye. I hardly have time to go to dinner with my family. I am not trying to discourage you but I want you to know the real deal. Good luck

Sonja

Hello Sonya! Can u tell me some info about the Patho, nursing assessment, and fundamentals? I start those classes in sept and I am so AFRAID OF WHAT's AHEAD OF ME!?

You are right, there are 2 8 week "mini-mesters" where you can take 9 hours for each one. it works out to be equal to 18 hours / semester if you take 9 in each.

Jsayers, I am with you - I have a few semesters with 9-12 hours, and scheduled for 2 years and 1 1/2 semesters. I'm hoping I can shorten that with more hours at the end and be done closer to 2 years! It's so much cheaper to take more hours than it is less...

I agree. I was trying to do the same thing! I as well have 2 years and 1 semester which is an extra $8000 dollars for me! I guess I understand they dont want you to take to much.

beckyv,How long did it take to hear back about you drug and background check? I'm ready to get everything complete, so I can finally chill till september.

I have 2 or 3 semesters with only 9 hours - I really hope I can combine those. 1 class at a time is just silly, IMO ;)

I don't think I actually ever heard anything about the drug check - I guess no news is good news! I did have to sign some new documents, and now I'm waiting to hear back about how to register.

Oh ya I would try to combine too! I was looking over it last night to see where I can combine some. I wonder why they dont just have us register online for classes. Kinda silly to me.

Hey guys!!! I'm new on this site, though I have visited often to read the post! I am scheduled to attend an open house tomorrow at chamberlain...can anybody tell me what to expect? Thanks in advance!!! ?

I'm at a clinic waiting to pee in the cup for my drug screen lol (sorry so graphic) I did my pre enrollment today and I definitely feel u Jsayers11 and beckyv...mine is 2 yrs then they got me doin capstone by itself in the summer. I only have 10 total credit hrs in the fall '12 semester, so I'm gonna see if I can move Econ up to this fall so I make space for capstone in spring '14 so I can graduate in June rather than august.

I am going to try and move some of mine around as well. I had 19 transfer hours, and still wouldn't graduate until June 2015. Did they say about someone calling to register for classes with you?
