Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta, GA

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Has anyone attended or is currently attending Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta? If so, how is it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am currently attending a technical college and have done all of my pre requisites except for the sciences. My gpa is 3.40. I just found out about this school and I am very interested... thanks.

Ok Thanks So Much!

Hello ladies. Reading through this thread has really motivated me and I am so happy for all of you!!! I'm currently a student at GPC and I've been waiting to apply to Chamberlain Atlanta for a while now. My gpa is currently a 2.68 due to a lot of things that have happened to me recently (divorce, child custody issues :/ ) I haven't been able to get higher than B's and C's in the Biology courses. I did not want to take a break from school during all the personal stuff and I guess that made things worse for me in terms of school.

Does anyone have any advice as to whether I should re-take or just keep working on my pre-reqs to raise my GPA to the 2.75 they require? I spoke to an advisor today, Demario(sp.?) and he was not very encouraging or helpful. He just kept saying, "I can't help you..I don't know what to tell you.." I felt even worse about myself and like I would never be able to get into a nursing program. I have been working as a PCT at Emory hospital for over a year and I KNOW I am meant to be a nurse. I am just stuck right now. There's so much competition to get into the nursing program. If I could start over I would!

I am taking more classes this semester to raise my GPA and hopefully do well on the HESI and be accepted for January start. If you all have any advice for me, I would greatly appreciate it. I know most of you work and have families to take care of on top of nursing school so you understand what it's like.

THank you!

I know someone who was in the same situation, she went ahead to retake 3 science courses online and made A's now her Gpa is a 2.9. Try and take some hard classes online or even on site and give out your best shot. I understand you on your family issue but trust me you will be fine in no time.

The more classes you take at GPC the lower yr tuition will be at Chamberlain!

No mainly the APA book for sure.

Stay encouraged and don't give up. I am so not giving up. They just calculated my GPA at a 2.79 and I took my Hesi and had 4 days to study because I found out about this school at the last minute.I passed with an 88%...waiting for an answer for tha September start date...had personal situations same as you... But dealing with my mother and sister facing criminal charges...I still stayed in school...bad idea...but just retake those courses and don't stop, stay motivated...I work at Emory as well!!!

I too found out about the school at the last minute... Took the HESI on aug 2nd and passed with an 80 with no studying because I had no time to buy the study book the day before. Now I'm waiting on the word for the September start date. I feel so rushed and I hope I'm able to get everything in before orientation!
