I'm looking for anybody that can help me with getting any kind of maternity and pediatric training so that I can challenge for my lvn or know of any classes that substitute for that training that I can take at the local college

Here is a thread from someone who successfully challenged the lvn

Here's another one. Look at Requirement one: you need 48 months in subacute care, you need 6 weeks in maternal, and 6 weeks in peds. You also need a pharmacology class which you can take at a community college

Pls beware of schools that will charge you excessively to "train you" to challenge the board. Rather than pay them, you are better off going to school to become an LVN.

Are you in RN school? If so, you can use your peds and maternal courses. If you are a CNA, you can get a job with a home health agency, and work with pediatric clients, however, it will be diffficult to find experience in maternal unless you obtain employment in acute care and are assigned to a maternity ward.
