Hi guys! First and foremost, congrats to those who got in and can’t wait to meet all of you very soon ??  I decided to start this post in an effort to communicate with all of those who will be part of this upcoming Spring cohort. These next two years will be grueling and I feel like it’s very important to have a strong support system among all of us.

It is 100% in person- you will not be online for anything and you will be at school 3 days a week for 5-7 hours per day until you start clinical, then your 12 hour clinical day will replace one lecture day.

They take being late very seriously and you can be dropped if you're late too often so I would seriously consider your drive as a factor especially if you get accepted somewhere closer to you.

if it stays the same as this semester,

you'll be in school Tuesday, Thursday, Friday first six weeks, and then Wednesday and Thursday the remaining of the semester + your clinical day which depends on your site.

Thank you soooooo much for the information. This is so helpful! I do have trouble getting places on time sometimes because I trust Google maps which doesn't always work out because of changing traffic conditions, accidents, etc. I have to practice getting places way ahead of time. Thank you for your help!

Congratulations! Like another commenter said, chaffey is strict with being on time and uniform on clinical days. Although they have a reputation for being very strict, the professors do really care. I've had a great first semester experience and I'm glad I chose to go here. Best of luck!

Hi Ricky711,

I just got my acceptance. ?

I'm sorry to bug you but I was hoping to get a general idea about the schedule before orientation. I was wondering if classes are mostly online, in person or a mix (aside from skills classes)? Are classes spread out throughout the week or mostly on a few days?

I live 40 minutes-2 hours away depending on traffic so am trying to decide if it'll be doable realistically.

thank you!

It's doable, just have to take into account of traffic and if you are determined to be a nurse. I live near Palm Springs and I make the commute because I like the group I'm with and I like the Professors. Just do some thinking and determine if you can do the drive three days a week for two years. And on Monday's or Friday's when you get into Nursing 15, you will have to attend clinical. The teachers choose which day you will attend clinical. So please take into account of that as well. Nursing 15 schedule could look like Mon, Wed, Thurs or Wed, Thurs, Friday.

I was accepted as an alternate also! I can't believe it! I hope we get in ?

Hi, did you guys get in as alternates? If so, how long did you have to wait until you got accepted? Also, did you still attend the orientation?

Hi! Yes I was accepted as an alternate. I'm about to be in my last semester so can't comment on recent cohorts but I was #12 alternate in my cohort and I got in.

you have to attend the orientation in order to keep your place

I found out I was an alternate late October and found out first week of December

I was accepted as an alternate student as well. I forgot the number I was but I made it in as well. I am in fourth semester as well

Hi! Congrats! You actually don't get to choose! The program is very set in stone with faculty. As someone who is about to graduate from this program in a week, all I can say is you got this! It will be hard and it's not easy, but you can do it!

All the instructors are good, but I would be remiss to say that all of them are easy. As RCummings said it is definitely a difficult journey but it can be done. RCummings and I did it and we graduate next week. We did it RCummings!

Yeah I've heard it's a difficult journey, thank you guys for the advice.

How exciting, finally done congrats to you both!
