I wanted to start a thread for Chabot nursing Fall 2014 applicants to discuss. I understand we are to receive notification around April 30th?
I think there's only 70 points possible before factoring in the TEAS. I got my letter in April and it said I wasn't in the top 120, and that's the end of the road for me. I have 55 points (-6 for not working in a health care field, -5 for no military exp., -2 for no foreign language...and -2 for a C in Psych from 14 years ago, oops!). I didn't think 55 was so bad that I wouldn't even be eligible to send in my TEAS scores.
I see markspiegs got 66 (nice!), and uchchi got 53. Would other people be willing to share their scores?
And uchchi, were you in the top 120 with a score of 53?
I'm so confused, and disappointed!
Thanks guys!

I got 45 before my teas and I was in the top 120. You had a 55 before or after teas? Is there a possibility that your application wasn't filled out correctly or that it was received late? I don't understand why you wouldn't have been in the top 120 if you had 55 points BEFORE you teas. I'm sorry for your situation. It really sucks :/
You should have called to make sure that there wasn't a mix-up. I had a class with somebody who had a 4.0 gpa and didn't get into the top 120. A day before the teas score was due, she got a call from the nursing program saying that there was a mix-up and they sent her letter to somebody else :/
Wow! Courtneymadison, thank you for that info! I had 55 points BEFORE factoring in the TEAS (which fortunately I've already taken, but I'll need to send my scores). Also, I remember getting a notification from them that my application had arrived and everything was in order back in December.
I thought it seemed mathematically odd that 120 people would have ALL had over 55, but I just felt so defeated after getting the letter that I didn't bother to question them. I sent an email earlier today, but I'll definitely be calling tomorrow. Maybe it's not too late? At least...I hope it's not. Oh, I feel so foolish now.
Thank you!

I got a letter after I turned in my TEAS score. It says "We will notify applicants their status after 5/23/2014" so tomorrow will be the "cut off day" I guess. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Hello everyone! I also received the letter!
I just submitted via email the acceptance form and sent a copy of my TEAS score. I can't wait to find out if I'll be accepted or not! Good luck to everyone.:)
