  1. “The generation younger than mine is the WORST one yet!” - Anyone Who Ever Lived (date unknown)
  2. I started my job as a new grad in October. I was simultaneously completing a school program during these past 10 months. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't, and I would advise everyone against it. I feel that I'm not as good of a nurse as I could be because my time and energy (mental and physical) has been so divided. Give yourself a few years.
  3. The girl at the counter yesterday didn't seem to think they were available that way... but I'd be interested to hear if someone else gets different info. If they don't sell used nursing books, that would mean they also don't buy them back. That seems a little odd.
  4. I went to the bookstore today to ask for a little clarity on the book situation. This is what the girl there said: the books are ONLY available in the bundles (e-book or e-book + actual books). On their website they list the book bundle as well as a few individual required books. According to her, those are redundant (they're in the bundle) and they don't even sell them individually. I feel a little hesitant to buy all the books at once. It didn't necessarily sound like it saves you much money anyway. For me, I think I'll just look for first semester books online. Also, if you are going to get them at the bookstore, they're not in until Friday (8/8), and she said to park as close as possible because they need to use a dolly to get the books out to your car.
  5. Whoa, that handout was not in my packet. That's a little disconcerting...
  6. Angela did you call to ask them? I looked through everything I have and can't find where is says to mail in hard copies. With the exception of the Essential Functions form.
  7. Hi Angela, I'm sorry you're having a tough time finding a place. I'm sure you've tried this already, but I think the best place to look is on Craigslist. What's your budget?
  8. I won't be able to work during the program, and I can't get loans either because I already have a bachelor's degree. I'll have to rely on savings and friends and family. If you've filled out your FAFSA and you have a low income, you can qualify for the Board of Governors waiver. That will waive the cost of the units you have to sign up for (several hundred dollars).
  9. The good news is: I got my packet! The bad news is: it was postmarked yesterday...which means they are not being truthful when we ask them questions on the phone
  10. Congratulations! Still no packet for me either. I called today, but I got the same answer I've gotten every time: "They went out. Call back next week if you still don't have it." I just hope I'm not missing any important deadlines Hopefully I'll see you at the picnic!
  11. Oh man! I'm glad you finally got yours. Mine never came. When is the picnic?
  12. I haven't gotten mine yet. I did get a call today though because of a problem they had finding my test scores, and the lady said that the packet will go out tomorrow (Thursday) so hopefully that's true. Now I don't know if they're sending them out to individuals at different times...or all at once as a group. If they go out as a group, we should have them by the end of the week. I really can't believe how long this is taking.
  13. Okay, thanks so much!
  14. Someone called me on Wednesday and said that they'd never received my TEAS scores! I sent them on the 2nd, along with my acceptance form. They seemed a little confused because I had the confirmation email and everything. That freaks me out a little, but the good part of it is that at least they called to double-check. So maybe things are even further behind than they should be. Yukyville - you picked up your packet, right? If you did, can you say what the CPR requirement is that we need? I ask because I have an opportunity to take a class on Tuesday, but I want to make sure it's the right class (and since I don't have a packet, I have no idea if it is!). Thanks for your encouragement.
  15. :sour:Well, nothing in the mail today for me. This is pretty frustrating.
