Thanks

The kind of paper they used for the certicate is a little bit thick. It is color green. It has your name in it. It also said that you met all the requirements thats why you were issued one. It has your name in it. No expiration date and no date of graduation from your nursing school. In fact, the only thing that can relate to you in the certificate is your name. The contents and information of the certificate are similar to that of a CGFNS certificate.

Hope this will satisfy your curiousity. :p

Thanks a lot Rep! :)

And remember that it will need to be renewed every five years......... :balloons:

Hi Suzanne,

If its going to be renewed every five years, does it mean that an applicant has to take the English exams again? Thank you in advance for your response. Have a nice day ahead! :p

English exams are only good for two years, so YES, you will need to retake the set of exams. Be aware that starting in September, 2005, TOEFL will begin to offer the TOEFL, TSE, and TWE combined in one exam, similar to the IELTS series and it will be computer based.

Currently, the fee for renewal of the Visa Screen Certificate is $150.00

Suzanne,

Thank you for the update on the new exam format. This would make the exam a little bit difficult but if one is determined then that would not be a problem. But on the financial side, taking one exam instead of two is much cheaper.

If we were taking a vote today as far as preference over exams, I would definitely select the IELTS series. Right now they are definitely a better test as to how well some one will succeed in English. ETS is completely redoing their format, so I am not sure what the results of their new exam will be. It really won't benefit any of you now, because hopefully, you will have all completed your exams by then and be in the US already working.

I would agree with Suzanne. Go for IELTS if you have choice. Although I personally took TOEFL and TSE - it was not easy at all. IELTS looks much better (at least from description) and costs you cheaper. Also, oral part - being interviewd by a person sounds much better rather than speaking to the d*n phone, talking to the answering machine.

You are right! IELTS is much better. My sister took the TSE four times and failed in all of them. When she took the IELTS, she passed. As for me, I took and passed the TOEFL and TSE. At that time, IELTS was not yet recognized by CGFNS/ICHP. I have no choice. Good luck for your visa screen certificate. :p
